TOSKEY SWARMS WITH TOURISTS Hay Fever Season and low Kail-road Bates Bring Them Out in Thousands. fetoskey, Mich., August 21. The simultaneous beginning of the hay fever season and of a round trip rate of less than the regular ono-fare rate from points south have made Petoskey and other northern Michigan resorts literally swarm with tourists. On the first day the Pere Marquette and the Grand Rapids & Indiana set down 1.150 In Petoskey alone, and subsequent days have been close to that mark. It ta estimated that the middle of next week will see the greatest crowd In Petoskey's history, for the early resorters still will be here and those who remain late all ni" have arrived. , . John M. Klose of Kalamazoo and Svdney A. Bump and Charles V, hit-taker of Petoskey have gone to the Manistee river on a fishing trip. Mr and Mrs. Charles Patterson of Milan, regular visitors tor m&ny years, are at the Debenham cottage on Grove street tor the remainder of the season.
