Months later, he and his colleagues turned up a reference to an agent code-named Liberal who had a wife named Ethel. He then taught within the Lapeer County School System from 1948 to 1955, after which he served as Principal of White Junior High School until he retired in 1983.

After retiring, he and his wife, June, enjoyed many years of golfing with friends in Perrinton, Ml and Bradenton, FL. The Blacks were winter residents of Bradenton for 17 years and summer residents of Perrinton, MI. After his wife died in 2000, Mr. Black moved to Okeechobee, Florida. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Wright Black.

He is survived by two sons, Jeff Black (Raia) of Okeechobee, Colby Black (Paula) of Frostproof and one daughter, Candice Walker (Paul) of Okeechobee. Seven grandchildren survive; grandson, James Black, grand-daughters Kristan and Kara Black, Evelyn and Beth Walker, of Okeechobee and grand-daughters, Amanda and Casey Black, both of Frostproof.
