One of her favorites was the family cottage on Mullett Lake in Cheboygan County, where she indulged her love of boating.

"She spent a lot of the summers up there," her husband said. "And she was a big collector of Steiff bears 128 of them at the last count." Her tastes also turned to food. "She loved Buddy's pizza," her husband said. "She had a Buddy's pizza every week for the last 40 years." Besides her husband, survivors include her three sons, John, David and Dan, and two sisters. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m.

MURRELL-THOMPSON, MICHAEL WILLIAM, 7 the Rippers built Jack Ripper Associates, and before long, all three of their sons went to work for the business. "She was secretary-treasurer as well as half the founders," Ripper said of his wife. She handled the business end while he did production. Janet Bussey Ripper died of lung cancer Saturday at her home in Farmington Hills. She was 67 and had moved to Detroit from Trenton, N.J., when she was an infant.

She grew up in Detroit, graduated from Redford High School and earned a bachelor's degree at Hillsdale College. Mr. Kolitz wrote the story in 1946. It is about a Jew who becomes angry with God during the Holocaust. Anthony Mazzocchi Labor leader brought reform WASHINGTON Anthony Mazzocchi, a labor leader whose fight for worker protections helped bring about federal work safety laws, died Saturday of pancreatic cancer. He was 76.

Mr. Mazzocchi, a native of the New York City borough of Brooklyn, spent much of his union career at the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union in Denver. In 1974, as legislative director of the OCAW, he worked with Karen Silkwood and her local at the Kerr-McGee nuclear power plant in Oklahoma. Silkwood died in a car accident on her way to meet a reporter, and her efforts to organize the union were the subject of a 1983 Mike Nichols film, "Silkwood."
