of Troy Michigan died on January 16, 2007 at Evergreen Health and Living Center She was a graduate of Highland Park High School, the Highland Park Junior College and The University of Michigan, where she earned a Baccalaureate and a Master's Degree She served as a Wave officer in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946 at the Naval Air Station at Anacostia, Washington. C. Miss Jones was employed by the Highland Park Board of Education for 41 years as a teacher and administrator. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, The University of Michigan Alumni Associalion and the First Presbyten-an Church ot Hoyal Oak. Miss Jones has no immediate family but is survived by many dear friends.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

She was 81. Born Natalie Fowler in Cambridge, where she lived most of her life, Mrs. McPhail married Robson McPhail, a musician and big band orchestra leader, in 1943. The name of the ensemble, which appeared mainly in East Coast venues, was the Cosmopolitans. She sang under the stage name of Kit Fowler.

After marrying, she devoted the majority of her time to cupation to her; it gave her much joy. She loved singing jazz and had a style similar to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan." In addition to her daughter, survivors include sons Robert, Roger and Mark, and daughters Natalie Rena and Robin McPhail. A memorial service is at 3:30 p.m. today at the Swan-son Funeral Home, 14751 W. McNichols, Detroit.
