June demand attributed to European and Braziltan Interests caused advances in the market for coffee futures today as offerings were generally light. Rio contracts opened 3 points lower to 5 points higher and sold up to 15.41 for December, the close showing net gains of 25 to 32 points. -New York. June Spot raw sugar was unchanged today, but the undertone was steadier, with more desire by refiners to make purchases. Sales were 29,700 bags of Porto Rican, prompt shipment, and 7,000 bags of Philippines, nearby, at 4.21c. with further buyers at this level. Holders asked fractionally higher.

Early losses of 1 to 3 points in raw sugar futures, which brought prices down to new low records for the season, were followed by rallies, with final prices 2 points higher to 1 net lower. The early decline was accompanied by liquidation and European selling particularly of the new crop deliveries, which were Inclined to be easy throughout the session, but prices rallied on covering and new outside buying on the decline, closing at about the beat of the session. The spot market Was steadier. This probably had some Influence, and the warmer weather led to expectations of an increased demand for refined. Trading was active, the day's business gregating 99,800 tons.

December, July 2.71c: closed January, 2.50c; September, 2.62c: 2.68c: March, 2.62c; May, 2.69c. There were no changes in refined sugar, with new business still in small proportions, although withdrawals continued fairly liberal. Prices were listed at for fine granulated. DRY GOODS--New York, June goods were quiet today, with prices generally steady: more wash fabrica were offered at reduced prices to clean up summer offerings. Raw declined 20 yen at Yokohama and sales reached 2.000 bales.

Silk goods moved in small lote for immediate cutting and sale. Burlaps held generally steady and a short interest WAR reported n8 developing in Rome of the made-up lines.
