Osteopathic Women's Club Plans Meeting THE DETROIT OSTEOPATHIC WOMAN'S CLUB will begin the 1941-42 season with a luncheon at the Western Golf and Country Club at 12:30 o'clock Tuesday, Sept. 9. Reservations are being taken by Mrs. Lloyd Woofenden. Mrs.

Second SAKS FIFTH Steeplechase Arrangements Already Occupy Bloomfield Folk BY IRENE NEUMANN IT MAY STILL BE midsummer weather as far as the mercury is concerned, but that certain something is in the air, the color of the sunlight is different, trees are turning out here in the Hills, leaves are dropping from some of them and people are riding along the bridle paths and across country in the early morning. We've even seen a pink coat or two going over the fences. All of which leads up to the last big event of the season at the Metamora clubs.

The Annual Steeplechase and Meet will be held on the Frederick M. Alger course Saturday, Oct. 4. William Reeve Clark is chairman of the meet. While the committee is not yet complete, some of the Bloomfield members on it are Elliott S.

Nichols, Charles D. Pierce, Frank W. Shuell, and W. 0. Briggs, Jr.

There'll be luncheon as usual at the Bloomfield Clubhouse up there and several other luncheons and cocktail parties in conjunction with the meet. THE FIRST OF the parties to be given for Mary Louise Kern, whose marriage to Nathan T. Viger, will be an event of mid-October, is to be given by Mrs. Stuart Cogsdill and her daughters Margaret Jean and Kathryn at their summer home on Orchard Lake next Thursday afternoon. The party will be a luncheon and linen shower.

MRS. CARL H. L. FLINTERMANN and her son, Donald, left by airplane Saturday for the West. They will visit Salt Lake City, Yellowstone National Park, Seattle, and go down the coast to Los Angeles.

In all, they plan to be away three weeks and will make the whole trip by air. Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Booth off on a late summer holiday.

They came in from their farm Wednesday and left Friday for the Maine coast. They'll be back in a fortnight and will open "Thornlea," which has been closed since last Easter time. C. E. WILSON came back from his summer home, "Telger Lodge," on Walloon Lake, Tues- day and his son in law and daughter, Mr.

and Mrs. E. Curtis Matthews, who have been up there for several weeks, returned to their home Wednesday. Rose Mary and Erwin Wilson also came down Wednesday, and Mr. and Mrs.

Edward Wilson have been at "Long Meadow" for 10 days. Mrs. C. E. Wilson will come down this Sunday.

Mrs. Gertrude Gurney, Washington, D. cousin of Mrs. Frank W. Shuell, arrived Saturday to stay a week with Mr.

and Mrs. Shuell. Mr. and Mrs. William G.

Lerchen left Friday for Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri where they planned to visit their son William G. Lerchen, Jr. Mrs. Lerchen, went with them. Mr.

Lerchen, senior, will leave shortly after his return to go on a hunting trip in Northern Canada. COL. FREDERICK S. STRONG, who is stationed at Atlanta, came home for several days, but returned to the South Tuesday. White Gladioli Are Setting for Service Another visitor in the Hills is Mrs.

Louis Wetmore, of Johnson City, who is the guest of her mother, Mrs. Edwin Denby. Mrs. Edwin Denby, who has been with her motherin-law for several weeks, left Monday for Portland, and from there will go to Washington, D. for the winter.

Linhart read the rites, Mrs. Guy Sutherland was matron of honor and the bridesmaid was Virginia Gilmore. Guy Sutherland was Mr. Ziemann's best man, and. the guests were Richard Zieseating mann, the bridegroom's brother, and Jerome Pieti, the bride's brother.

A reception, which was given by the bride's parents, was held later in the evening at the home of Mr. Ziemann's parents for 70 guests. The couple left for a short trip to Northern Michigan, and are now living on Chatsworth Ave. PANHELLENIC The Detroit Panhellenic Association will meet for the first time this season at 2 o'clock Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Intercollegiate Club in the Penobscot Building.
