I i A 'Nr i I Deb Borrows Style of Marie Antoinette THE full glamor of the debutante season caught up with society yesterday at the reception and ball at which Jane Briggs made her bow. Jane might have been Marie Antoinette herself in Heaven blue marquisette as she stood in the receiving line with her mother, Mrs. Walter O.

Briggs, in the library pf their home. Her period gown had the full skirts, eight in all, of that time, but the redingote effect of the bodice was an innovation. It buttoned to below the waist and from there on opened with scalloped edges to the hem. Each scallop had a tiny spray of blue flowers made of tiny beads. Vertical tucking and elbow-length sleeves with more tiny blue beads were distinguishing features of the bodice into which the was cut in a deep square.

The deb carried a spray of white orchids. Mrs. Briggs complemented her daughter in her gown of mist beige marquisette. The skirt was very full and the bodice trimmed with fine alencon lace. Her Rowers were deep purple orchids.

Mrs. Briggs had asked all her daughters to be assistants on this momentous occasion. Mrs. W. Dean Robinson, Mrs.

Charles T. Fisher, and Susan Briggs, member of the post debutante crowd, and Mrs. Walter O. Briggs, gave the event the pleasant air of a family party. Jane's assistants were Barbara Cox, of Dayton i Mary Buhl and Betsy Holt on.

Jane and Susan flew down a week or so ago to be in the wedding party of Barbara's sister Ann in Dayton. Lights Flood Garden FOR THE dance which followed the afternoon's reception, the gardens of the Little Club were flooded with light. Tall formal hedges edged the outdoor dance floor and in the rounded corners were huge arrangements of blue delphinium and white auraturrulilies with yellow stripes. Even the trees were illuminated and the 16 pillars of the porch were each topped with wide window boxes of the same lowers. From behind them, more lights played indirectly on wiU complete the family circle of farewe11 Partles that plushest of the plush lunch-when they arrive on Friday.
