A three-judge appeals panel reversed a ruling by Recorders Court Chief Judge Dalton Roberson, who earlier this month said French could be freed if he posted 10 percent of a $750,000 bond. That ruling had angered the victims' families and was appealed by Wayne County Prosecutor John O'Hair. Associated Press BATTLE CREEK Plans were unveiled Thursday for a museum devoted to the history of breakfast cereal that could draw more than 400,000 visitors annually to Battle Creek. Miller Foundation, Battle Creek Community Foundation and Kellogg Co. officials announced the plans for the $15-million nonprofit museum. The opening date has not been decided.

The Miller Foundation and the Battle Creek Community Foundation are nonprofit organizations that fund projects around the Battle Creek area. Visitors to the museum would learn about nutrition, the history of cereal um opening would be an economic boost for the city. By Jean Calmen Free Press Staff Writer When Thomas John Evans finished college and went job hunting, he was lucky to have a friend recently hired in the Walled Lake school district. Muddy Waters, who later became the Michigan State University coach, helped Mr. Evans get a teaching and coaching job in Walled Lake in 1951.

Mr. Evans devoted his entire career to the district and retired in 1984 as athletic director. Tom Evans Stadium, the football field at Walled Lake Central High, is named after him. Mr. Evans died Wednesday at his home in Walled Lake of kidney failure after years of battling cancer.

He was 70. His biggest problem with that first job was that he was to teach driver education. "Unfortunately, Dad had never driven a car," said his son, Jim.
